Examining Diary Nonuse in the Management of Asthma by Adult Women
The study tests three major hypotheses on the use of an asthma diary: 1) are specific clinical and personal characteristics associated with non-use of an asthma diary, 2) perceived benefits and barriers to the use of the diary, and 3) the impact of documenting events in the diary on management of asthma by the patient. Data to test these hypotheses are being collected using qualitative methods. Findings will be used to update and redesign the asthma diary for use in management.
